A game with a point
The balance timer game
Stand on one leg. Start the clock when the other foot lifts, stop it when it touches down. Eyes open first; when that stops being interesting, eyes closed will humble you. Your best time in each mode stays in this browser, waiting to be beaten.
Beneath the game is real ground: single-leg stance is a much-studied measure, and balance is trainable at every age. Two or three playful rounds most days is exactly the kind of practice that moves it.
Stand near a wall, rail or table you can touch instantly. Skip the game if you feel unsteady today.

Research-reported averages, eyes open
Rounded averages from a published normative study (see sources). Averages, not targets: plenty of healthy people land on either side.
Your bests live only in this browser; nothing is sent anywhere.
